The new Archbishop of Cincinnati, Robert G. Casey, ministered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 83 young people at St. Margaret of York on April 10, 2025.

Archbishop Casey spoke about the sacrament as a moment to take an important step in faith. “We ask the Holy Spirit to transform us from fear to faith, from isolation to communion with God and one another,” he said.

The concelebrants for the Mass were Pastor Ed Smith, Reverend Stephen Hughes, Reverend Jason Bedel, and Deacon Paul Blessing.

“It was a great privilege to have our new Archbishop at our parish. He took time to talk with the students before Mass, and they enjoyed being with him. He told me that he was very impressed by the young people who were confirmed. It was a joyful evening for everyone,” said Pastor Ed Smith.

"I think it's always special for our young disciples to see and hear from the Archbishop at Confirmation. It is clear to see Archbishop Casey is eager to encourage the faith of our Confirmandi and for them to devote themselves to the Lord,” said Father Hughes.
