Before being approved to work with youth in our parish or school all adults (18+) must complete the SafeParish™ training and complete an online background check.
As part of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and St. Margaret of York's commitment to keeping children safe, the SafeParish™ safe environment program is now a requirement for all adult volunteers as of July 1, 2021. The training session lasts approximately 3 hours and the background check requires a one-time cost of $25 we ask volunteers to cover. Once approved volunteers will be required to complete quarterly online training videos to stay in compliance.

Active VIRTUS® users were invited to create a profile on the new SafeParish™ platform in July 2021. Invitations were sent to your email on file with VIRTUS®. Please be sure to include St. Margaret of York as one of your locations if you intend to work or volunteer here at the parish or in the school.
Catechists and Religious Educators
In addition to the safe environment requirements for working with youth, catechists, and religious educators; paid and volunteer must be certified and maintain certification with Vocare Catechetical Certification. Vocare is a requirement for catechetical leaders as of June 2017.

Ohio Child Abuse Hotline
If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, please report it! Call 855-O-H-CHILD (855.642.4453), an automated telephone directory that will link callers directly to a child welfare or law enforcement office in their county. Please provide the child protection agency with as much information as possible. Children Services screens all reports to determine if there is enough information to investigate.
