Society of St. Vincent de Paul
The St. Margaret of York Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) has been in existence since November 2006. Our mission is to offer emotional, spiritual, and financial support to people living in the St. Margaret of York and St. Vincent de Paul boundaries -- parishioners and non-parishioners alike. Volunteers with SVdP share the love, fellowship, and resources of both our God and our St. Margaret of York family during home visits with clients in need. SVdP is supported by our parishioners through Fifth Sunday Collections occurring four times a year during Mass. The members of the Conference normally meet twice a month to hold spiritual discussions, pray, and discuss the business affairs of the Conference.

Social Action Commission
The Social Action Commission works to strengthen awareness of the social justice dimension of our Catholic faith within our St. Margaret of York community. The Commission serves as a liaison with the Archdiocesan Office of Social Action and shares information from the Archdiocese regarding issues such as current legislation on political/social reform, the wide spectrum of Respect Life issues, social welfare, charitable outreach, etc. The Commission is the umbrella for all parish outreach efforts.

We will deepen our relationship with our brothers and sisters in Honduras by the mutual sharing of gifts, traditions, culture, worship, and faith journey. This will help us strengthen our friendship with our neighbors from the South and gain a better understanding of the role we are called to within the global Church. Our group is involved with exchange visits and a student sponsorship program. Recently, our St. Margaret of York School children raised funds to set up Skype with students at Home of Nazareth School at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Honduras. Meetings are open to all parishioners on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 7:30pm. St. Margaret of York Honduras Twinning was featured in an article for the Catholic Telegraph in the Fall of 2017. Click here to read it.

In the season of Advent, the giving tree is decorated with ornament tags that list items for donation. The items are returned to the tree with the ornament tag and given to families to open on Christmas.
