Bible Studies (WOW)

Wisdom of the Word (WOW) is a Bible Study program on Wednesdays offered twice a year, one beginning in the Fall around September and one beginning mid-January to early February.  Program topics are chosen from various popular Catholic Bible Study programs such as Ascension Press and Formed.  For each session of the program, a morning and evening time are offered. (sometimes the two groups choose different topics to explore)

WOW is an opportunity to go deeper in the exploration of the Word of the Lord and to join others in fellowship, in an environment where you can learn and grow your Catholic faith! Our program is designed for both first timers as well as veterans of Bible study, all are welcome! Did we mention we have awesome snacks?

Fall 2018 | Morning WOW Topic

Would you like to have a deeper relationship with God and a better understanding of your faith? Join us for Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible, an eight-week Bible study that makes the complex simple and helps you uncover the story of salvation woven throughout Scripture.   Imagine flying at great heights and getting the “big picture” of the Bible and seeing how our Catholic Faith is rooted in Scripture. The Bible reveals God’s loving plan for our life, and we will learn helpful ways to put our faith into practice. Sacred scripture is the story of the Father’s unfailing love for us.

If you’re a beginner, this is an excellent first taste of the Bible.  If you’re a seasoned veteran, you know that Sacred Scripture reveals something new to us at each reading.

Fall 2018 | Evening WOW Topic

We hear the Psalms read or sung at every Mass between the first and second readings, but do we understand their significance?

At the heart of the Bible are the Psalms, prayers from God that help us learn to pray. The Holy Spirit inspired them. Israel sang them. Christ himself prayed them, as did our Blessed Mother. These sacred hymns become our heartfelt response to God’s loving and wondrous deeds for us. Their words captivate the imagination and draw us into a deeply personal encounter with God. The Psalms tell the "inside" story, which comes from the deeply personal perspective of one who is seeking God.
